Using Future Focus to Develop Ends
In theory Policy Governance boards know that they should be future focused and Ends driven. But how does a board accomplish this in practice? It will not happen by accident, and even well-intentioned boards can be distracted by the emergency of the moment, but a structured and intentional discipline can combat this tendency. Ted Humphrey (Board Chair, Nuvision Federal Credit Union) and Richard Lum (Principal of Vision Foresight Strategy) will present on Richard's collaboration with Nuvision.
Attendees will learn . . .
  • The difference between forecasting and future focused exercises,
  • The difference between a strategic plan and strategic vision.
  • How strategic vision creates the context for Ends.
  • Board cadence for strategic thinking.
